JOHN FLETT FITTED SHEER RUCHED DRESS
John Flett black dress from 1985, probably his first collection. John was one of the most important designers in London at the time and a great influence on all levels to the likes of John Galliano. A student at St Martins, his interview collection was considered exceptional, he went on to prove his immense talent. After creating his own collections in 1985 he went on to design for Italian designer Claude Montana and on his very untimely death at the age of 27 in Florence was about to sign a contract with the Milan fashion house Zuccoli to create a womenswear collection. One of the great talents to emerge from London in the 1980s, this beautiful, sheer black dress is a great example of how John Flett designed and his innovative cutting styles. Short sleeved. Soft 'V' neck. Beautiful ruching and forming the fabric. The main label reads JOHN FLETT London. Never been worn and stored in Corniches's archive since the 1980s.
