KANSAI YAMAMOTO EMBROIDERED SHIRT SUIT
Khaki Brown
£POA
Kansai Yamamoto embroidered shirt suit in light khaki. Amazing piece bought in Tokyo directly after the catwalk show in, we believe, 1973 only worn on the catwalk in Tokyo, in our archive collection ever since. The model number of the shirt is in Japanese, Made in Japan, Yamamoto Kansai Co Ltd. There is a little bit of moisture marking on the collar and inner neck label, a small staining to the right of the left pocket and an occasional light marking, otherwise both pieces are in amazing condition. Double layer collar and 6 ivory coloured buttons. 2 military style chest pockets with extension folds and shaped flaps with button fastening. The right-side chest pocket has KANSAI embroidered in black. Short sleeves with turn-up finish. The rear has a crossed yoke with hanging tab and an amazing embroidered tiger, quite stunning embroidery, with black Japanese lettering. Vented at each side at the hem.
The trousers have a solid waistband with belt loops, button at waist fastening and zip fly. At the rear there is cross laced detailing with metal rings for the lace fastening. Model number: 81WP-1, Colour A, Size S (hand written on label. 2 side pockets, with side entry and shaped flaps with button fastening. The leg is highly tapering down to narrow with side zip at the hem. This is a great example of this very important Japanese designer. Size small. This is very special and, although there are a few marks, they are not prominent and to be expected for a garment that is over 50 years old, very collectable and rare.
